Andy Hagon - Victoria Ward

Andy HagonHi there! I'm Andy Hagon and the Liberal Democrat Candidate for Victoria Ward. It is an honour to have been selected by the Lib Dems to stand in Victoria, the heart of Hartlepool. I attended Brinkburn Secondary school and then Hartlepool 6th Form College, and have worked for Hartlepool Council's Children's Services, at St Hild's Secondary school, as well as our local Tesco's. I've been a Store Manager for Tesco's in London and an Assistant Headteacher in Yorkshire, amongst other things. I'm married with two children and currently work in schools, I'm a Specialist Leader in Education, Coach, and a Trustee on the Archbishop of York's Council, as well as a school Governor.

I care deeply about the way Hartlepool is governed. But politics in our town is rotten, and as a fellow Hartlepool council tax payer, I want a change, a change that will bring hope and prosperity to our great town, and our area in particular.

What have Labour done for our area?

The Labour Party has treated our community with disrespect. And when was the last time you saw our Labour Councillors walking around the Ward talking to residents? What difference have they actually made to our area? You may remember getting a newsletter from Labour earlier this year, which failed to mention anything our Labour Councillors have done for our area. Not one thing. Nothing at all. They are not even good at attending Council Meetings (one of our councillors attends only 66% of the time, and another 45%!). A vote for Labour is also a vote for the current Council Leader, who the Labour Party themselves tried to get rid of and failed! The only true opposition to Labour in our area are the Liberal Democrats. Voting for anyone else just lets Labour off the hook.

Vote for change!

I am determined to change things. I want to see the Council spend our money wisely and protect frontline services in our community. If you want a local councillor who will focus on our area, listen to residents, and work hard all year round, vote for me as your new Councillor on May 2nd in the 2019 local elections.

Vote for Hagon!
