What has our MP achieved?

I got my children's school reports the other day and fortunately they were quite good. There seemed to be plenty of effort, and some good achievements too. And it got me thinking about our MP, Mike Hill, and what his MP's report might look like, after 2 years in the job, and what comments residents might write.

What would he get for effort? Well, I think he puts a lot of effort into getting in the Hartlepool Mail so that might be a 1 (the best score). On the achievement side, what would we say about his voting record on leaving the EU, about bringing back the Health Services that Labour allowed to be ravaged, and about getting a flow of quality jobs coming into the town? I think Mr Hill might not score so well on achievement.

Now to be fair to Mike, he doesn't really need to achieve anything, because he knows that Labour will always get in. Even if he does a terrible job, Hartlepool will still insist on having a Labour MP. But has the Party really helped Hartlepool? Has Labour really made a significant difference to our lives, even when in power?

Hartlepool needs to be a marginal seat, where all the Political Parties are fighting over our votes, and promising to invest some serious money here. And if the polls are to be believed, the next General Election is going to be very interesting. In fact, at 30% in the latest YouGov poll, we might even have a Liberal Democrat Prime Minister by Christmas! What our MP has achieved?
