Blame Labour Too - a letter to the Mail

Blame Labour too

In a recent article by Mike Hill (16/1/19), he clearly levels the Brexit mess at the door of the Conservatives and yes, they really have made a mess of it. But the lack of an Opposition from the Labour Party hasn't helped. They have consistently sat on the fence about Brexit and people are still not clear what they stand for. Some might also say they live in some kind of fantasy world, believing they will be allowed to do a better deal than the Conservatives by the EU. In fact, in a recent YouGov poll, it said that May was still preferred to Corbyn as PM (by 16%), even after all the poor leadership she has shown, and that the Conservatives were preferred to Labour over Brexit too! And the poll also suggests people don't want a General Election either, and therefore a change of Government. This must make sorry reading for Labour and Corbyn who should be streets ahead in all polls.

Mike also says he listens and responds to you, the Hartlepool voter. He said he voted against May's deal because it's what we Hartlepudlians wanted. But he made it quite clear in his article that he'd have voted that way anyway, suggesting he's someone who really votes the way he wants to. And if you check the website www.theyworkforyou.com you'll see it says Mike almost always votes for more EU integration, not less. This was hardly the message the people of Hartlepool were sending you, Mike. So don't be fooled by Labour, who are playing games rather than cooperating for the national interest - they also deserve their fair share of the blame.
