LIBERAL DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE ATTENDS WORKERS MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE

5.44.41pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 28th Apr 2010

The Hartlepool Liberal Democrat Candidate Reg Clark attended the Workers Memorial Day Service organized by the Hartlepool Trades Union Council at the Hartlepool Art Gallery today.

The day commemorates those workers in the Hartlepool area who have lost their lives through Industrial Accident or Disease.

'My political colleagues encouraged me to attend, and I decided to do so mostly to honour the memory of my great uncle Reg Wilkinson, after whom I was named, and who died in the 1951 Easington Colliery disaster, when he was living in the town. I'm very glad I did. It was a moving and inspiring event', commented Clark.
